Captain Puliš returned to the Zvolen line-up, the guests missed Petráš, who is being investegated by the disciplinary commission. The first period belonged to the home team, they created several chances, but could not score past Gudlevskis in the goal. The hockey players from Pustý Castle did not use a minute lasting 5-on-3 powerplay when the experienced Bratislava hockey players Sersen and Meszároš were sitting in the penalty box. Zigo then tried to score from the slot in the fifteenth minute, but only thing that ended behied Rahms back was Tibenskys stick. Kelemen, on the other hand, couldve scored short-handed. Before the break, Bondra got into two more goal opportunities, he shot twice, but the left post said “no”.
At the beginning of the middle act, Zvolen had a huge opportunity to take the lead. They did not punish the three penalties of Slovan, they even played 5-on3 for two minutes. With a balanced ratio of forces on the ice, Rapáč couldve punished Rahm's mistake, the puck narrowly missed the goal. In the 31st minute, Urbánek did not prevail in the numerical advantage of Slovan, on the other hand, Bondra, McPherson and Viedenský were already defeated by the guests in full. The score finally changed during the power play of the Bratislava team. Gašpar scored from the blue line and the score was 0 – 1. But after only a minute, Meliško fired from the blue with Maier's contribution and the puck passed the surprised Latvian goalkeeper. So both teams went for a break in a 1: 1 draw.
The home team in the third period already played without injured Zuzin. They had the upper hand, but they could not turn it into a leading goal. The power play and the chances of McPherson and Viedenský were not successful either. Zvolen's pressure continued in the following minutes, but Nuutinen, Tibenský, Mikúš and Stupka could not get the puck between the poles. It was therefore time for overtime under Pustý hrad and the guests did not use the power play right at the beginning of the overtime. The Bratislava forwards Bortňák and Zigo could have brought about the unraveling, but they were caught by the Swedish goalkeeper in the HKM jersey. Nuutinen made the home team's keeper look foolish as he scored in the 68th minute. He had plenty of space in front of the goal, did not rush and finished comfortably. Zvolen got into the finals.
