Michalovce started better, their starting line-up has put a slight pressure, but Parks saved their first big chance. Michalovce then played a power play, but Bartánus missed from the right circle. In the middle of the opening act, Šedivý shot from the blue line between the pads of the goalkeeper and sent the guests into the lead. Later, Suja also showed the activity of the guests in a power play and Dukla took a two-goal lead into the cabin.

Shortly after the break, the guests were already three goals ahead. Mudrák shot from an angle and the lone Galamboš delivered the puck to the net. Slovan then continued his weak and soulless performance, the guests played carefully on the defensive, simply and very disciplined. The second third did not bring many chances in the further course, the guests were much happier than the home team after the end.

In the third act, Michalovce did not let themselves slip an important victory. Slovan tried to change formations, but ran into a well-consolidated defense. Dukla's players won important fights for puck in their defensive zone and did not let the opponent close to the goal area. In the end, however, they were too relaxed. First, Rapáč took advantage of Bortňák's pass from behind the goal and Slovan's coaches then four minutes before the end decided to play without a goalkeeper. Thanks to Rapáč, they scored another goal, but that was not enough for them to turn around.
