The beginning of the third period was marked by great chances on both sides. At first, Viedenský did not prevail, followed by the Kelemen, and Zvolen breathed a sigh of relief on the occasion of Ranford. In these phases, open hockey was played, especially the home team bet everything on the offensive and the away team waited patiently for opportunities. After one of them, Kelemen and Viedenský rushed at Gudlevskis, and the third goal for Zvolen was scored. After this goal, Slovan's coaches bet everything on one card, five minutes before the end they pulled Gudlevskis from the goal. Slovan immediately reduced the goal difference thanks to Meszároš and 103 seconds before the end Mikúš was sent to the penalty box.
