The forward Kyle Chipchura, who played in 220 NHL games in the past three seasons, joins HC SLOVAN Bratislava.
The 30-year old forward has agreed with the management of HC SLOVAN on a one-year contract valid until 30.4.2017. Chipchura, who has played professionally in almost 500 games, and who played in the past three season in the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, should be part of the first line-up in Slovan.
Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2004 from the 18th place, he caught the attention by his productivity in the junior Western Hockey League and as a captain in the Junior World Cup Championship of the Canada national team. Two years later, as 20-year old captain of the Canadian national team, he managed to win the championship and raise the winning cup above his head.
As a 20-year old forward, he joined the AHL's Hamilton Buldogs, who won the AHL's Calder Cup that season. Two years later, he would play in 36 games for the Montreal Canadiens.
As a hockey player, he can use his physical parameters very well (188cm, 92kg). He played three more years for the Montreal Canadiens, and he moved to the Anaheim Ducks during the 2009/2010 season, where he stayed for two full seasons.
He played in the sunny Phoenix for the past five years, and he became a regular team member of the Arizona Coyotes line-up in last three seasons. He played 220 games in the Coyotes jersey, and he even had an A embroidered on his jersey as an Alternate Captain, next to the superstar - Shane Doan.
