Stupka had the first chance in the match after Viedenský's pass, but Parks stopped the puck with his pads. Slovan was the first to have a power play at disposal, but Rahm saved Gašpar's shot. In the fourth, however, McPherson reached out and sent Zvolen to a two-goal lead. Immediately, Slovan had a chance after the collected goal, but Meszároš missed the net. The guests managed the end of the match tactically, did not allow the home team to exert continuous pressure and finally secured an important triumph with a goal in an empty net.
