Poprad entered the match vigorously, with their activity forcing Urbánek to foul after less than two minutes. The guests played a power play for 64 seconds, when Svitana from the right side sent his team to the lead. The predominance of "chamois" continued even after the goal, Petr Mikula's charges had more often a puck on sticks, they combined well, especially the first formation constantly worked the Slovan defense. At the end of the first period Štajnoch had a chance to equalize but missed.
The picture of the game did not change after the break. The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 27 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving Livingston completely unmarked. Slovan's players wanted to reduce, they fought, but in the offensive, they were not as creative as their opponents.
The said “picture” was no different in the last third. Handlovský skated between the circles and scored the third goal of the "chamois" with an accurate shot to the right post. Slovan then played they’re first power play in the match, but they could not score even in numerous advantages. The "Belasí" have "burned out" in the offensive in the past three home games, scoring only two goals.
