After a season spent in the Chinese Kunlun Red Star Kyle Chipchura returns to Bratislava.

The Canadian player signed a one-year contract with HC SLOVAN Bratislava. The contract is subject to registration at the Central Player Registry in Moscow.

"Kyle is a significant part of the team, and we are very happy that he decided to return to Slovan. In the 2016-2017 season he worked very hard and was one of the key centers of the team. He's an experienced player who played several seasons in the NHL. He can play defensively very well, and you can notice his quality as a player in other game elements as well,“ said the head coach Vladimír Országh about the Canadian player.

The 32-year-old forward returns to Bratislava after a season spent in China. Chipchura played for Slovan in the 2016-2017 season. He earned reputation of an excellent warrior always supporting his team among the fans. He scored 29 points for 13 goals and 16 assists.

After a successful season with Slovan, Chipchura decided to move to China. Unfortunately, he was not able to follow up on his previous success with Slovan in the Shanghai based Kunlun Red Star. There were multiple reasons why it was so - the very exhausting and difficult travel regime of the China-based team, as well as different role he played on the Mike Keenan's team.

Chipchura also played in the NHL in the past. He was a stable team member of the Arizona Coyotes, where he was even wearing the A badge. He played in the NHL from 2009 for teams like Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes - altogether 481 games.

HC SLOVAN Bratislava is extremely happy about Kyle Chipchura's return. We believe that he will be at least as successful as during his last season spent with the Blueshirts.
