HC SLOVAN BRATISLAVA HAS PUBLISHED IMPORTANT DATES FOR ITS PRE-SEASON TRAINING, AS WELL AS THE FIRST MATCHES OF THE 2021/22 SEASON.
The complete team will meet for the first time in full force at a meeting to begin joint pre-season training on Wednesday, July 28. The first days will be marked by medical examinations and tests. Subsequently, the team will train on a narrow ice rink measuring 60 x 28 m in the home conditions of the Ondrej Nepela Ice Stadium.
During the extended second weekend in August, they will undergo a preseason match before the new season. The double match will be marked by a derby with the Bratislava Capitals. First, on Thursday, August 11, and on Sunday, August 14, the Vienna Capitals will arrive in Bratislava. In this match, Slovan will be the home team for the first time in the season, tickets will be on sale in early August.
During the next weekend, Slovan will take part in an international summer tournament in Zemplín region. The organizer is the home club HK Dukla Michalovce, in addition to them, our age-old rival from Košice will also take part in the tournament. The composition of foreign participants has changed several times as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and should be definitively known in the coming days. In any case, we will play three quality matches near Šírava, which will be the last preparation before entering the competition part of the season.
Slovan will then take part in the Champions Hockey League. First, the team will travel on a round trip to Sweden (Leksands IF) and Switzerland (HC Friborg-Gottéron) at the end of August. After the end of the Olympic qualification, we will meet both opponents again at home on September 2 and 4. In the group F, Oceláři Třinec is still favoured, which we will see in Bratislava in the middle of October.
In September (September 9), last year's 99ers will pay us a visit to Graz last year. It is possible that one or two more matches will be added to the program of the preparatory matches.
