AFTER MATT MACKENZIE AND ANDREW YOGAN, SLOVAN SIGNS THE THIRD “BULLDOG” FROM DORNBIRN, WILLIAM RAPUZZI

The management of HC SLOVAN Bratislava agreed with William Rapuzzi on an one-year contract valid until April 30, 2022. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, was one of the most productive players in the multinational ICE HL (formerly EBEL) league last season.

Just in the last season in the Dornbirner EC jersey, he was the fifth most productive player in the regular part of the entire competition after gaining 50 points. Rapuzzi created a dangerous attacking pair with Andrew Yogan, his teammate and another new addition to HC SLOVANsʹ Roster. Together, they accounted for 104 points throughout the season.

"William Rapuzzi has had successful years in European competitions. In Slovan, we expect from him just as decent productivity and an increase in the team's offensive strength. In the next season, he should play in pair with  Andrew Yogan, with whom he played together last year in the same formation, "said the general manager of the club, Maroš Krajči.

The right-handed hockey forward, who celebrated his 31st birthday in February, decided to play in Europe after the 2013/14 season, when he shone in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) overseas competition. The Idaho Steelheads team, where he scored 58 points in 60 matches.

He then lasted three seasons in EHC Visp, a team playing  in the Swiss hockey league. In the first two seasons he ranked second place in team productivity with 66 points in both seasons. In his third year he recorded 53 points on the year.

William, who stands 5'11" feet tall and weighs 192 lbs, later agreed on a contract in the successful Norwegian team Stavanger Oilers, where he played only 25 matches, but scored 29 points in the statistics and won the contract in the highest Finnish competition Liiga. In the land of thousands lakes, in the Vaasan Sport team, he collected 20 points and moved to the Austrian transnational competition to play for Dornbirner EC team.

HC SLOVAN Bratislava welcomes William Rapuzzi and wishes him another successful season, as well as team success with his new club.
