HC SLOVAN BRATISLAVA AGREED WITH THE NATIONAL TEAM DEFENDER ON A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT.
Daniel Gachulinec played in the youth categories in his native Považská Bystrica. He took his first steps in professional hockey in Banská Bystrica, where he spent three years. In the 2013/2014 season, he played at the U20 World Championships in Ufa, Russia, where he scored one goal and assisted. After leaving Banská Bystrica, he played one season in the Piešťany.
Since the 2016/2017 season, this right-handed defender has been a long-standing support of the Detva hockey club. In the first season, he was one of Detva's most productive players, collecting 18 points (4 + 14) in 24 matches. The young defender improved every season. In the last season 2020/2021 he belonged to the mainstays of the defensive line of HC 07 Detva, in 51 matches he collected 22 points (6 + 17).
His life form did not go unnoticed, after the quarterfinals, Daniel received the first invitation to the senior national team of Slovakia from Craig Ramsay. He has undergone several preparatory matches since the beginning of April and continues to be selected in the selection for the upcoming IIHF World Championships in Riga.
"Daniel is a skilful skater and a constructive type of defender who will fit into our team typologically. We have been following his performances for a long time. In previous positions, he was one of the pillars of the defensive line. We believe that he will build on its rising form and will improve even further in a more competitive environment,” welcomed the new reinforcement of the whites, the general manager of HC SLOVAN Bratislava Maroš Krajči.
The next few days will decide when Daniel Gachulinec will report to the team. We wish the new Slovan player to do it as “Late” as possible. This would mean that Daniel fought his way to the final nomination for the World Championships in Riga.
